After 14 years in prison for a crime he swears he didn’t commit, Chick returns home to find his flat-broke family under the thumb of his dangerous Uncle Mike. A Western Gothic tale about a family isolated by shame, Stupid Kid explores power, guilt and the limits of maternal love.

This reading of Stupid Kid by Sharr White (The Affair, Annapurna, Snow Geese) was produced by The New Group as part of their NewWorks Spring Festival. It was directed by Moriz von Stulpnagel (Hand to God) and starred Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer). This was truly a stunning cast!
